About John Mellor
I was born and brought up in Liverpool, UK just after The War and went straight from school to sea as a young officer in the Royal Navy. After five years I resigned and worked as a professional yacht skipper for quite a few years before settling to full time writing. I have lived in and renovated a number of boats and houses in various places, and now share a delightful house and 10 acres of weeds near Nelson, New Zealand with wife, son, daughter and a motley collection of animals and boats. My grownup daughter still lives in the UK, although we are trying to persuade her to come here. Read the rest »

About Rebecca Stead
Rebecca Stead grew up in New York City, where she was lucky enough to attend the kind of elementary school where you could sit in a windowsill, or even under a table, and read, or draw, or write, and no one told you to come out and be serious (well, eventually someone did, but not right away). It was here that she began writing.
Rebecca lives in New York with her husband and their two sons. Her second novel, “When You Reach Me” was published by Wendy Lamb Books in July, 2009. Read the rest »
